Videogames for Primary Education

Thanks to the development that video games have experienced in recent years, today we have a large catalogue that is able to offer benefits in different areas of Primary Education (we refer to the subjects of our Learning Situation):
-Science: a study from the University of Castilla la-Mancha conducted by Rodríguez and Gutiérrez (2016) has shown that video games are sufficiently attractive to get the study participants to feel motivated and attracted to Sciences. The use of video games in the area of Sciences offers many possibilities for its teaching. There are numerous video games that allow us to experience other historical periods (Ubisoft, 2009). It has also been shown that games such as "Civilization VI" (MicroProse, 2016) and "Stardew Valley" (ConcernedApe, 2016) are very useful for maintaining students' motivation (Delgado, 2018), the former being another historical simulator.
-Physical Education: video games in Physical Education are used to increase student participation and motivation, and there are many possibilities for their motor development that a large part of the teaching staff is unaware of. Until recently, the traditional view of video games has been maintained, that they encourage sedentary lifestyles, but over the years they have evolved, and new systems have emerged that have broken this vision, such as the Nintendo Wii or Kinect, which are able to detect the player's movement (Gómez et al., 2018).
-Art: in the Plastic Education classroom, video games are used to motivate students and also to explain various concepts and topics that at first appear to be complex, such as the representation of space. The proposals in which video games are used cause the students' interest to increase and with it also their desire to learn and perform the tasks (Santiago, 2018).
